Post-doc de tres años en la School of Pharmacy. University of East Anglia, UK

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the research team headed by Dr Jesus Angulo at the School of Pharmacy, University of East Anglia. The post holder will contribute to an exciting research project, funded by BBSRC, aimed at development of novel structural glycobiology tools based on high- resolution ligand based NMR and computational techniques for the determination of 3D structures of "weak" protein-ligand complexes.
This post will provide a unique opportunity to develop expertise in quantitative 3D characterisation of highly relevant weak protein-ligand interactions, of strong interest in modern biosciences and in the pharmaceutical industry. The project will also allow the post holder to have some training in an industrial setting thanks to our collaboration with industrial partners interested in this project. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in collaborations with academic and industrial partners interested in the project, and interact with NMR community in the Norwich Research Park.
The School of Pharmacy at UEA is the home of a state-of-the-art NMR facility housing high-field 800 MHz and 500 MHz spectrometers optimized for biomolecular studies in solution state, and for soft materials in gel state by HR-MAS NMR (at 800 MHz), along with 500 MHz, and 400 MHz spectrometers for routine solution studies, and 300 MHz and a brand new wide-bore 400 MHz spectrometer for solid-state and gel state NMR studies. The available NMR infrastructure and the expertise in the research group offer an exciting opportunity for the candidate to gain skills set in high level structural analysis using advanced NMR methods.
You will have a minimum of a PhD in the appropriate field in Chemistry (or submitted thesis), Physics, Pharmacy or Biological Sciences, and be able to fulfil all essential elements of the person specification. To discuss further details of the post, please get in touch with Dr Jesus Angulo (+44 (0) 1603597155,
The post is available from 1 April 2017 on a full-time, fixed term basis for a period of 3 years or until 31 May 2020.
Closing date: 12 noon on 17 February 2017.
